So season 2 is soon upon us, and my god are things gonna get heated for our Pretty Little Liars.
Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily (Hale, Bellisario, Benson & Mitchell) are the best of friends, and have helped each other survive the trials and tribulations of high school. But on one fateful night their lives were shook up, when the 'leader' of their group, Alison (Pieterse), disappeared. A year went by, and they all drifted apart, but when Alison's body was finally discovered the girls were thrown back together, and now are having their lives threatened by the mysterious 'A'. Nobody knows who A is, but they are dead set on destroying the girls lives and making them pay for something, they just don't know what.
In season 2, it is all still happening and the girls are still struggling, but this time A has really turned it up a notch. They are determined to ruin the girls happiness, and even go as far as murder, kidnap and drugging people to make sure the girls suffer. The cast are superb and are backed up by a stellar supporting cast, whom are all veterans in the TV world. Ella and Ashley (Combs & Leighton) are Aria and Hanna's mothers respectively, but of course they are better know as Piper from Charmed (Combs) and Sydney from Melrose Place (Leighton). Both of these women are superb, and I wish they got more time to shine, although in season 2 they do appear m ore often.
It really is a brilliant show that keeps you on the edge of your seats, and constantly twists and turns so you never know what to expect. You think you know who A is, then suddenly somebody else becomes a suspect, and you just don't know. It is written brilliantly, and is full of the perfect drama/comedy/scary ratio (especially the Halloween episode' The First Secret'). It is returning to UK screens in November on MTV, and if you haven't watched it before, I highly recommend that this season you do, and for those who are fans - you are in for a treat.
