The misfits are back, but minus a member; but despite this it hasn't effected the shows dynamic and it is still as brilliant as it always was.
Kelly, Simon, Alisha and Curtis (Socha, Rheon, Thomas & Stewart-Jarrett) are finished with there community service and just trying to get through their probation period without any trouble, and they've been doing OK, until they meet Rudy (Gilgun). Each of them has a new power, and every new power is as pointless as the previous ones, but I'm sure they'll find a use for them.
Kelly is now a rocket scientist, but that is the only thing she is smart at, she is still ditsy but excels at rockets. Simon can see his future actions, and then decide whether to go through with them after seeing the results. Alisha is now able to put herself in somebody else's shoes and see what they are doing (a much better power than last time). Finally Curtis, who can now go from being a man and changing his sex and becoming a woman. Now the new gang are all set up and ready to go they have one last person to fill in the void, and that comes in the form of Rudy. Rudy is able to split into two whenever he feels vulnerable or insecure, and I'm sure it will get them into plenty of trouble, and in episode 1 all the trouble is down to him.
The cast are all brilliant in their characters, and a special mention for Lauren Socha who received the BAFTA earlier this year for her role, and she really earned it. They all work brilliantly together and each character is perfectly performed and written. Gilgun fits in perfectly and is able to really shine amongst these already developed and loved characters. His chemistry is already brilliant with the rest of the actors, and I really look forward to it all unfolding and developing over the coming weeks.
The writing is spot on and is just as funny and intense as it always was. They have done a brilliant job at creating a new character and having him fit in so easily, and still keeping the storylines on top form. The acting is superb, and if this season continues like this, I'm sure all the Misfit fans will be very satisfied, and a fourth season will be on the way. It started on Sunday, and the next episode will air Sunday 6th, 10pm on E4, and if you've never seen it, now is the time to catch up.
