Les Miserables has unveiled its first trailer online.
Playing over the top of the trailer is Anne Hathaway's
rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream', with the trailer offering glimpses of escaped convict Jean
Valjean (Hugh Jackman) and Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe), the police officer
pursuing him.
Les Miserables
supporting cast includes, Samantha Barks, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter and Aaron Tveit; plus guest appearences from west end stars Colm Wilkinson, Bertie Carvel, Kerry Ellis, Alexia Khadime and Frances Ruffelle (Wilkinson & Ruffelle were part of the original 1985 London cast).
Oscar-winning The King's Speech director Tom Hooper is behind the camera for the film, which is based on Victor Hugo's novel and the subsequent stage musical adaptations.
Les Miserables is scheduled for a December 14 release in the US and January 11 in the UK.
