Quartet
follows three members of a former English opera quartet living in the Beecham House
retirement home, where each year the residents plan a concert to raise funds
for their accommodation. , The foursome are reunited when Jean (Maggie Smith) comes to live at the same
retirement home as the others, but her reluctance to perform and her
failed marriage to Reg (Tom Courtenay) injects tension into proceedings.
