The Big Bang Theory - The Skank Reflex Analysis

Starring: Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik
Rating: *****

Air Date: 2011, C4 - E4

The geeks are back and funnier than ever. Whilst still dealing with their social awkwardness, their cool, hot friend and new relationships, they are just as hilarious as ever.

When we come back in season 5, we are dealing with the fallout of Penny and Koothrappali (Cuoco & Nayyar), and the whole did they didn't they. Along the way Koothrappali falls in love with Penny, and he reveals he once fell in love with Bernadette (Rauch). Because of the obvious fact that Bernadette is in engaged to Howard (Helberg), both feel uncomfortable about Koothrappali's confession, resulting in a brilliant fallout.

Also we have Leonard (Galecki), who is now having to deal with the fact that his girlfriend and Koothrappali's sister is moving back to India. This of course will open it up for more Leonard/Penny stuff, but as long as it stay funny I don't care. Finally there is Sheldon (Parsons) who is still seeing Amy (Bialik), and they are of course both as odd and blunt as always. I especially like the way Amy is with Penny, her best girl-friend, and how awkward she makes Penny feel, it is extremely funny.

All in all it is another funny season opener, with brilliant writing and laugh-out-loud performances from all of the cast. I am not sure when it is returning to the UK, but I believe it is later this year on E4/C4, and if you haven't seen this show before you best start catching up, because it is a brilliant comedy.
